These two are the first adopted dogs at our home.  Pate is a chow-elkhound mix and Stars is a beagle terrior mix.  These are my son's first dogs.  They are both around 7 yrs old and were adopted from a kill shelter as puppies.

 

BONES came to us as a rescue in November of 2006.  He was literally skin and bones when we took him in from a kill shelter.  My S.O. fell in love with him and so he stayed.  BONES is a Great Dane-Hound-Boxer mix and weighs about 120 lbs now. He is our greeter for new dogs as his personality is so sweet!

Tabby is a senior Shepherd Mix that we took in as a sponsered dog.  Seniors very rarely get adopted from shelters.  We try to keep a senior here as a sponsered dog.  Tabby is about 15 yrs old but does not show her age one bit!

Buford is a Redtick Bloodhound mix that came to us from a kill shelter.  We thought he was a senior but he is really only about 6 yrs old.  Buford was not treated well at all and practically crawled on the floor when we brought him in the house. He was extremly hand shy.  Buford, once he became comfortable, will not get along with men at all.  He likes my S.O. but he is the only man he has ever made up with.  Buford also must have been hit by a car as his back leg/hip are deformed as well.  We love him completely and he will stay with us forever.

Curly Jo came to us as a puppy two years ago in a litter rescued from a kill shelter.  She has been on trial adoptions three times but withdraws so completely that she is always returned within a day or two.  I guess she has chosen her family and decided to stay!
