FOSTER HOMES NEEDED

There are many, many dogs waiting to be rescued.  Many shelters in surrounding areas only give the dogs a 3-5 day holding period and unless someone adopts them or a group like ours rescues them, they meet the fate of being Euthanized for lack of room.  Most rural shelters still use the inhumane method of gassing, sometimes horrifically using a car exhaust connected by a tube to a box.  This is a terrible fate for any animal!!!
We could help more dogs if we only had the room.  Sometimes fostering is only short term, others may be longer.

What Does Fostering Mean?

Fostering means taking a dog into your home and providing them with a loving safe environment until an adoptive home is found.  Sometimes it is a matter of days!  Most times it is for a few weeks, though at times it may be for a few months.  Our dogs will come to your home fully vetted, sterilized, HW tested and on preventatives for fleas, ticks and worms.  All you provide is food, toys, treats and most of all LOVE.
Can you open your home and heart to help us help them????
We require that you complete a foster application and agreement.  We also require references.  Please e-mail us if you would be interested in fostering for the Lyons Den, karie@animalprotector.com

VOLUNTEERING

We always need volunteers to help with such things as Fundraising, Special Events, taking dogs to vet appointments, grooming, walking etc.  If you would like to help, please e-mail us and we can discuss how you would be best able to help.
